Jan 2024 YM/YW Campout

Where: Camp Mauritz (Co Rd 256, Ganado, TX 77962

When: Friday, January 3rd through Saturday, January 4th

The stake has reserved the entire camp both of those dates. People can arrive anytime after noon on the 3rd and stay until 4pm on Saturday.

Who: All YM & YW and their leaders

What:

  • Friday
    • Dutch Oven Gathering (DOG) Friday night
      • Stake will be putting on a dutch oven activity providing dessert to all attendees
      • Youth who wish to can learn to cook in dutch ovens
    • Campfire Program
      • The stake will be having a campfire with messages and discussion
  • Saturday
    • Breakfast
      • The stake will provide breakfast
      • Youth who wish will be invited to help prepare the breakfast
    • Activities
      • Various different activities are being planned and finalized, including some games (e.g., 9-square, giant Jenga, etc.) to hopefully some skills (e.g., starting a fire, shooting, wood burning, etc.**

What The Stake Is Not Providing (unless requested)

  • Friday evening dinner
  • Camping supplies (tent, sleeping bags, etc--SEE LINK TO PACKING LIST BELOW**
  • Transportation
  • Saturday lunch

NOTE: We do not want the above items to prohibit or preclude a youth's participation. The stake stands ready to augment or provide where needed. If a youth requires help with any of the above, we encourage the ward to support first. If the ward's resources are insufficient, please inform any member of the stake presidency or stake youth leaders and the stake will make arrangements.

What Youth Need to Do

  • Sign up if they are attending (SEE SIGN UP LINK BELOW) -- this will help us plan for food
  • Complete the Permission and Medical Release Form and bring it to the campout (SEE PERMISSION LINK BELOW)
  • Make sure they have everything on the packing list--communicate with leaders if they need help
  • Coordinate with other youth and leaders for transportation
  • Come and have a good time!
