Challenge Steps:

  1. Print a game board off from this page

  2. Tell a member of the stake presidency:

    • “I have the game board.”
    • “I accept the challenge!”
  3. The stake presidency member will give you either a challenge coin or a pendant (your choice) and may ask you some questions.

  4. Carry the coin/pendant with you always (note: primary children are encouraged to keep their coin/pendant in a safe place at home)

  5. Track your progress on the game board by completing challenge items from the list (refer to the game packet or the stake website for challenge items and points). Mark your progress by filling in the squares on the path.

  6. Once you have made it to the temple on the game board, tell a member of the stake presidency:

    “I have completed the challenge”
  7. The stake presidency member will give you a challenge coin or a pendant (whichever you have not already received).

You can challenge a stake presidency member anytime for a reward!

  • What to do:
    • Present your coin or pendant to a member of the stake presidency and ask: “What is your next step on the covenant path?”
  • Your reward!
    • If a stake presidency member cannot produce their coin/pendant and respond with their next step on the covenant path, they must give you a soda, a piece of candy, or something similar.
  • The only rule: a stake presidency member cannot be challenged in their own home—everywhere else is a free game!

Ward and Organizational Challenges

Wards and organizations (YW, YM, Elders Quorums, Relief Society, etc.) can use the coins/pendants to create their own challenges
and rules.

Special game rule: When you help a friend make covenants or introduce them to the missionaries, you can advance on the path to “Baptisms Bridge” and cross over the bridge on the game board.

General Principles and Guidelines

  • This challenge is meant to focus us on what matters most: Our Savior, Jesus Christ, and his role in helping us on our journey on the covenant path to become like Him and our Heavenly Father.
  • The challenge items in this packet is not exhaustive. Take time to ponder and be open to direction from the Holy Ghost as to things you can do that may not be on this list. Ask yourself: “What is my next step on the covenant path?” Record impressions in your journal, do them, and progress on the gameboard path the number of squares you deem is commensurate with your effort.
